The role of inclusion and diversity has become a crucial concept that works together, so as to create a sense of value and trust within the workplace environment. Particularly within larger companies where a pyramid-style management structure is used, the involvement of inclusivity and diversity is especially important in order to reduce issues of discrimination, as well as increasing employee productivity and retention rates. While any workplace environment faces these issues, it seems to be more prominent within these larger companies as employees at the bottom of the pyramid tend to be more susceptible towards facing these issues of discrimination and profiling.

Although the idea of social media usage might not be viewed as a substantial part of one’s PLN, how an individual chooses to utilize and promote themselves can often influence how an employer and their respective companies view that candidate. Whether it be their personal or professional social media, they both play a part in reflecting their online profile towards their potential employers. Through their choice of language and the content individuals put forward on their profile, it allows recruiters to assess how they utilize their social media image and whether their traits match with the company’s standards. By successfully managing one’s social media portfolio, they can put forward their best image that promotes inclusivity and diversity traits which can attract their future employers.
